Review: Team One WildC.A.T.S (1995) #1

Team One WildC.A.T.S (1995) #1 Team One WildC.A.T.S (1995) #1 by James Robinson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Better than Team one: Stormwatch, but the artwork is still a whole world under the level of the first issues of WildCATs.

A pleasure to see James Robinson here. The script is good. I can understand the story. It's not like Team One: Stormwatch (heroes, aliens, hit, punch, end of the story).

Team One: Stormwatch (1995) #2 Team One: Stormwatch (1995) #2 by Steven Seagle

It's a shame.
It's just like I told in my review of the first issue.
Good concept, bad script, awful artwork.

Review: Team One: Stormwatch (1995) #1

Team One: Stormwatch (1995) #1 Team One: Stormwatch (1995) #1 by Steven Seagle
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I can't understand why Wildstorm allowed things like this.
Steven Seagle doesn't know how to tell a simple story. This is one of the worse scripts I've ever read. Bad dialogues and bad sequenced narrative.

And what about Tom Raney? There is an universe of good artists waiting to work, waiting for an oportunity. And I dont understand how Raney arrives to work in series like Uncanny X-Men, Action Comics, Captain America, Thor...

The begining of Wildstorm with Stormwatch and WildC.A.Ts (and Team 7) is one of the most appasionating eras in the modern comic-book. Team One's series were an interesting idea of "origins" for those series.
But as far as I can see in this issue, Wildstorm screwed it up here.

Review: Olympus Mons Vol. 1: Anomaly One

Olympus Mons Vol. 1: Anomaly One Olympus Mons Vol. 1: Anomaly One by Christophe Bec
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great first album.
Steffano and his great artwork provides a solid visual for an ufo story full of classics.
If you watch TV Channels like DMax, History and so, you'll find a lot of aliens and old civilization misteries.
Christophe Bec take some of this misteries to create an argument with different fronts.
The most remarkable are a Mars mission and a sea exploration.
Then, he adds a telepatic guy.
Three fronts to tell a story of ancient ruins of flyin saucers with constant coincidences in three different places.
We just read and wait to see how the three part gather in a slow process.

Anyway, the final result is interesting. Maybe some slow, but interesting.

Review: Lady Serpiente

Lady Serpiente Lady Serpiente by Clark Carrados
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Review: Team X / Team 7

Team X / Team 7 Team X / Team 7 by Larry Hama
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I supose I expected something more espectacular.
Stgeve Epting did a correct job here.
Larry Hama wrote a short and boring story.
You don't need more than 22 pages to tell a story like this.

Review: Fantastic Four (2018-) #1

Fantastic Four (2018-) #1 Fantastic Four (2018-) #1 by Dan Slott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

They are back! I really hope we could read those adventures I really miss with that special pulp touch.

********************

Review: Planetary/Batman: Night on Earth

Planetary/Batman: Night on Earth Planetary/Batman: Night on Earth by Warren Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

That's an interesting experiment of Ellis: Planetary is travelling along different realities, and this allows us to meet different versions of Batman.

Not bad. Funny. But if you're looking for the habitual Planetary's drama, forget it.

Review: Predator: Hunters II #1

Predator: Hunters II #1 Predator: Hunters II #1 by Chris Warner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's good to see Chris Warner back, and it's better to see Agustín working in this new story.

This first episode is a guarantee of a classic style of a new battle between predator and a group of specialists.
Old times and old style are back.

Review: Planetary/JLA: Terra Occulta

Planetary/JLA: Terra Occulta Planetary/JLA: Terra Occulta by Warren Ellis
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It's a pleasure to read another Jerry Ordway story, and I'm a big fan of Planetary.
This is the worse story about Planetary Warren Ellis wrote, but I supose that's because it's an Elseworlds story, not another chapter of the real Planetary drama.

Good to read, not very impressive... and another book of Ordway. Not bad.

Review: Las extrañas aventuras de Solomon Kane

Las extrañas aventuras de Solomon Kane Las extrañas aventuras de Solomon Kane by Robert E. Howard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review: Wildc.A.T.S: Trilogía

Wildc.A.T.S: Trilogía Wildc.A.T.S: Trilogía by Dafydd Wyn
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

No te has perdido nada.

Review: Harlan Ellison's The City On The Edge Of Forever The Original Teleplay

Harlan Ellison's The City On The Edge Of Forever The Original Teleplay Harlan Ellison's The City On The Edge Of Forever The Original Teleplay by Harlan Ellison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

How I wish all the GN and Limited Series of ST could have more artists like J.K. Woodwatrd.
His artwork is excellent and it reminds me a lot those Alex Ross comic-books like Kingdom Come or Marvels.
At last I have a good edition of the original script of Harlan Ellison for this episode.
A long awaited hardcover edition of my favourite episode of all the ST series.
Here, I discovered the real original story and some details in the intro, like the fact that the original episode was first aired in april of 1967, just when I was born.
Yes, I know it's just a coincidence, and I don't know why, but I like it.

Review: Weird Western Tales #12

Weird Western Tales #12 Weird Western Tales #12 by John Albano
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jonah Hex and El Diablo, my favourites stories here.
About this El Diablo short story: I can't imagine how someone can do such a brilliant story in such short number of pages. Cary Nord and Neal Adams are really two genious of the comic-book Universe.

Review: WildC.A.T.S: Cover-Action-Teams

WildC.A.T.S: Cover-Action-Teams WildC.A.T.S: Cover-Action-Teams by Jim Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
