Review: Conan The Barbarian (2019-) #1

It's just the first issue of a 12 issues arch, but I can resume this first chapter this way:

There are no backgrounds. If you see an open scene, you wont see mountains, birds, trees... Just bodies (fighters, corpses), ground, open sky and rocks. When Asrar has to draw a character, he does it right. Anatomy, expressions, movement... and no more. There are a lot of limits here for someone who has to explain all the wonderful marvels of the Conan universe.

At the end of the story, there is a magic moment and we see just in a couple of panels how two warrior died. Before this, we saw the bodies of that soldiers. I mean, thanks to magic, we see how they died. This is what Jason Aaron (writer) wants we read, but artist doesn't get it. It is a really bad narrated moment. It's confuse.

At this final part of the issue, king Conan and two warriors are in the battle field. The battle is over and they find two children. Pay attention and you'll see the warrior just disappear of the story. I mean, someone (penciller, writer) forgot there were two warrior with Conan when the scene started.

Since there was a lot of good and bad moments and series in the cimmerian, I'll keep on reading next issues. But someone forgot here to show the splendorous world of the Hyborean era.

Es solo el primer número de un arco argumental de doce, pero puedo resumir este primer capítulo del siguiente modo:

No hay fondos. Si vemos un plano abierto, no vemos montañas, ni pájaros, no árboles... solo cuerpos (sean combatientes o cadáveres), suelo, cielo abierto y rocas. Cuando Asrar tiene que dibujar a un personaje, lo hace bien. Anatomía, expresiones, movimiento... pero nada más. Hay muchos límites aquí para alguien que tiene que explicar todas las increíbles maravillas del universo de Conan.

Al final de la historia, hay un momento mágico donde vemos en un par de viñetas cómo murieron dos guerreros. Antes de ello, vimos a los cadáveres. Es decir, mediante la magia, se ve cómo llegaron a morir. Eso es lo que el guionista quiere que leamos, pero el dibujante no lo consigue. Lo narra mal. Es confuso.

En la parte final de la historia, el rey Conan y dos guerreros están en el campo de batalla. La batalla ha terminado y encuentran a dos niños. Prestad atención y veréis the los guerreros de Conan desaparecen sin más de la historia. Me refiero a que alguien (dibujante, guionista) olvidó que había dos guerreros junto a Conan cuando la escena empezó.

Puesto que ha habido buenos y malos momentos y series del cimmerio, seguiré leyendo las próximas entregas. Pero a alguien se le ha olvidado mostrar el esplendoroso mundo de la era hiboria.
