This is the number 22 in Hellboy and the B.P.D.R.
Second in the 1956 saga.
Since 1944, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm is building this dpt., and in this moment of the story there is a new menace: the possibility of someone developing mass murdering weapons with enkeladite.

And again, just like in the previous issue, we have three parts with three different artists.

1- Mike Norton. The best of the three if we're talking about Hellboy adventures. His part is dedicated to the Professor Bruttenholm and his "desk" problems. At the same time, we will see Margaret, an angry training director and operations responsible who can't understand why she's not informed about agents she's training, like Hellboy and Susan. She really doesn't know where they are, and the Profesor seems so avoid answers her.

2- Susan is in a secret mission. She's gonna use her mental powers to discover what is and what it could be if B.P.D.R. doesn't stop the enkeladite menace. Yishan Li is the artist here, and I really like it, even when his artwork is really far from Mignola's style. But it's nice.
The most impressive is the double page with Susan's visions of the future.
Maybe this is the most effective and important part of the issue.

3- Michael Avon Oeming draws again the final part of the issue. Some pages of Varvara and the russians. Just a meeting again. And I don't like it at all. As I said in previous issue, I like some comic-books of Oeming, but his artwork is not nice for this story. Once I start to read his pages, I have the rupture sensation of the narrative.

The best part is the script of Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson. I have the sensation all the time I'm in the beginning of a big new saga.
The strange thing is the cover about Mexico. In fact, Mexico, fighters and Hellboy just appear in one panel. I mean, it's not a very representative cover.

El segundo de la saga 1956.
Desde 1944, el profesor Trevor Bruttenholm está construyendo este departamento y, en este momento de la historia hay una nueva amenaza: la posibilidad de que alguien desarrolle armas de destrucción masiva con enkeladite.

Y una vez más, como en el número anterior, tenemos tres partes con tres dibujantes distintos.

1- Mike Norton. El mejor d los tres si hablamos de aventuras de Hellboy. Su parte se centra en el profesor Bruttenholm y sus problemas de despacho. Al mismo tiempo, veremos a Margaret, una directora de formación y operaciones enfadada y que no comprende por qué no se le informa sobre los agentes a los que entrena, como Hellboy y Susan, de los que no tiene ni idea de dónde están.

2- Susan está en una misión secreta. Usará sus poderes mentales para descubrir que es y qué podría llegar a ser la amenaza de la enkeladite si B.P.D.R. no interviene.
Yishan Li es el dibujante de esta parte y ciertamente me gusta su estilo, incluso aunque su dibujo diste mucho del de Mignola. Pero es agradable.
Lo más impresionante es la doble página con las visiones futuristas de Susan. Quizá sea la parte más impactante e importante de todo el número.

3- Michael Avon Oeming dibuja de nuevo la parte final del número. Son algunas páginas de Varvara y de los rusos. Es solo una escena de una reunión, como en el número anterior. Y no me gusta en absoluto. Tal como dije en mi reseña del número anterior, me gustan algunos comics de Oeming, pero este dibujo no pega nada en esta historia. En cuanto empiezo a leer sus páginas, tengo la sensación de ruptura en la narrativa.

Lo mejor es el guión de Mike Mignola y Chris Roberson. Tengo la sensación en todo momento de que estoy solo en el principio de una nueva gran saga.
Lo raro es la portada sobre México y los luchadores. De hecho, México, luchadores y Hellboy solo aparecen en una viñeta. Vamos, que no es una portada muy representativa.
